Does Securranty cover New, Used and/or Refurbished phones?
New or Refurbished phones with a store warranty from any store, online retailer, eBay or Amazon which comes with at least a 90-day warranty.
Why should I purchase a Smart phone Protection plan when it is cheaper to purchase a protective case?
100% protection from accidental damage is not provided by any protective case. Most cases don’t protect against spill or liquid submersion. Waterproof cases don’t offer 100% protection from malfunctions. If you have to replace your phone even once, the cost is $849 versus the cost of a deductible is only $99.
What is required to purchase a Smartphone Phone protection plan from Securranty?
Only phones purchased in the past 30 days are eligible. You will need to provide the store receipt for the purchase of the Phone. You can upload the receipt to your account online after completing the purchase and we will store it for you.
Why should I purchase an iPad Protection Plan when it is cheaper to purchase a protective case?

Do I need a proof of purchase or receipt for my school issued device in order to purchase coverage?
If the device has been issued to you by your school, you don't have to provide proof of purchase/store receipt to purchase a plan or file a claim. However, you may be required to provide proof of device Model, Serial # and date device was issued to you by your school.
What is the difference between a manufacturers Chromebook Warranty versus a Securranty Chromebook Protection Plan?
Securranty Chromebook insurance covers all Chromebook models; such as your, HP Chromebook, Samsung Chromebook, Acer Chromebook, Lenovo Chromebook, and Asus Chromebook. Our protection plan does not replace the manufacturer’s warranty, but provides certain additional benefits during the term of the manufacturer’s warranty. First, we'll locate the manufacturer's contact information to help you file a claim. If the manufacturer replaces or repairs your chromebook, we'll cover the repaired or replaced item. If the manufacturer refuses to honor their Chromebook warranty because they consider your item purchased from an unauthorized retailer, we'll still cover you.
What does a Chromebook warranty cover?
A Chromebook Extended Warranty covers all electrical and mechanical failures that occur during normal, everyday use of your item. We cover your item for up to the full purchase price (excluding tax and shipping). Some examples of covered issues include a blank screen, hard drive failure, manufacturer defects, or other issues that are not a result of accidental damage, misuse or abuse. We provide Chromebook protection plans for all manufacturers; including, HP Chromebooks, Samsung Chromebooks, Acer Chromebooks, Lenovo Chromebooks, and Asus Chromebooks.
What is Key Fob Insurance?
A key fob is a nifty electronic device designed to control a vehicle’s keyless entry or starting system; sometimes referred to as a smartkey or intelli key. Within the plastic shell of the controller there is a tiny circuit board with a radio transmitter and control chip. When key fobs fail or become broken, they can cost a pretty penny to fix or replace depending on their capabilities. Replacing an intelli key or smartkey can cost around $250-$350, while regular key fobs cost anywhere from $50-$250. Get back on the road with a quick key fob fix from Securranty!
Won't my auto insurance pay for a broken or failing key fob?
Auto insurance is only designed to pay claims for unexpected and sudden losses which can create a financial hardship for the party insured. A policy that includes comprehensive coverage may pay to replace your key fob, smart key, or intelli key if your vehicle was stolen and later recovered; however, comprehensive coverage will NOT pay to replace a broken or failing key fob due to mechanical malfunction or a manufacturer's error. Filing a Claim - Claims Process

How does the in-home service work for large exercise equipment?
We assign your claim the same day it is approved to a certified, licensed & bonded technician from our nationwide network of service providers. The service provider will contact you in most cases same day to schedule an appointment based on your availability for repair. All large exercise equipment pieces, major appliances & Televisions 37” or larger are eligible for in-home service.
How do I file a claim?
Log into your account and navigate to the Policies tile on your dashboard. Select the File A Claim option next to your policy.
Will my replacement Smart Phone or Tablet be of the same color as my original device?
We make best efforts to provide replacement phone and tablets of same color, but are unable to guarantee color of device replacement. However, we do provide replacement that match Brand, Model and GB.
How do I pay my deductible?
When you file a claim, if a deductible is applicable, you will be prompted to pay the applicable deductible with a credit card. However, your credit card is only charged if your claim is approved.
How do I remove my Apple ID from my device or Turn off Find My Phone?
If you are not in possession off your phone or are unable to access your device, for instructions, please click https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201441. If you are in possession of your device, go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone, then tap to turn off Find My iPhone.
What documentation do I need to file a claim?
Proof of purchase , store receipt for purchase of your item, is typically required to purchase our plans and to file a claim.
How does the In-Home service work for major appliances & televisions?

Yes, you are covered for loss even when you are travelling internationally. We do not cover international shipping, however, once you file a claim, you may be authorized to have your item repaired locally and submit an invoice for reimbursement. You may also choose to have your item repaired upon return.
Does Securranty use OEM parts during repair?
We make best efforts to use OEM parts when available. However, when we use Non-OEM parts, we do ensure that the item is repaired to OEM standard and quality. We stand behind the quality of work performed by our certified technicians and parts used for the life of your plan or 90 days, whichever is longer.
What is considered an “improper modification?”
When an item is altered or modified from its original condition including alteration or modification of serial numbers, software that roots modifies the original manufacturer's installed operating system which voids the manufacturer's warranty.

How does unlimited Depot Repairs for Smartphone work?
When you purchase a Smartphone protection plan with Securranty, you have the option to receive Unlimited Claims coverage for any malfunction or accidental damage. However, every time you file a claim, you must select Depot Repair as the service option to enjoy the unlimited claim benefits.
Does Securranty cover New, Used and/or Refurbished phones?

How does unlimited Depot Repairs for iPads work?
When you purchase an iPad protection plan with Securranty, you have the option to receive Unlimited Claims coverage for any malfunction or accidental damage. However, every time you file a claim, you must select Depot Repair as the service option to enjoy the unlimited claim benefits. Securranty covers all iPad models such as iPad Pro, iPad Air, and other iPad generation models.
What is required to purchase an iPad protection plan from Securranty?
The only iPad purchased in the past 30 days are eligible. You will need to provide the store receipt for the purchase of the iPad. You can upload the receipt to your account online after completing the purchase and we will store it for you.
Does Securranty provide coverage for New, Used and/or Refurbished iPads?
New or Refurbished iPads with a store warranty from any store, online retailer, eBay or Amazon which comes with at least a 90-day warranty are eligible.
Is it worth to purchase a laptop protection plan for malfunction & accidental damage?
The cost of the protection plan plus a small deductible for 1 claim alone can save you $100’s of the dollar. The laptops are becoming thinner and thinner and they are harder and less likely to be repaired due to a serious drop or liquid spill. Can you afford to pay full price for another laptop?
What is required to purchase a Chromebook, MacBook and/or Laptop protection plan from Securranty?
Only Chrome book, MacBook and laptops purchased in the past 30 days are eligible. You will need to provide the store receipt for the purchase of the iPhone. You can upload the receipt to your account online after completing the purchase and we will store it for you.
Can I transfer my laptop Plan?
You may transfer your plan at any time to another person.
Does Securranty cover New, Used and/or Refurbished Laptops?
Coverage is available for new laptops purchased in the last 30 days. Refurbished laptops purchased in the last 30 days are eligible if they come with a minimum 90-day warranty.
Will my laptop be covered if it is lost or stolen?
If your laptop is lost or stolen, it is not covered under this plan.

Trouble Shooting

I can't make a phone call. What should I do?
For Apple Users 1. Check to make sure your Airplane Mode is turned off. If it already is off, turn it on, wait 5 seconds, and turn it off. 2. Make sure your DO NOT DISTURB settings are turned off. You can easily see if this feature is on by checking for a half moon on the top right corner of your display near your battery symbol. To confirm it is off, go to Settings> turn off DO NOT DISTURB. 3. Check for blocked phone numbers by going to Settings> Phone> Call Blocking & Identification. 4. Check to see if Call Forwarding is turned on by going to Settings> Phone>> Call Forwarding and confirm it is turned off. If these issues still do not resolve the issue… 1. Check for a carrier settings update. Just like our tech gadgets have regular system updates, carriers will also update their towers for improvements to make sure we get proper cell phone reception and avoid dropped or missed calls. (Settings>General>About. There will be an options available directly from the phone to update with the carrier) 2. Make sure your iPhone is up to date with the latest software. Issues with calls can be with simply not updating your device. Those updates are made to fix glitches that occur. (Settings>General>Software Update). 3. Check your SIM card. If you have a SIM card, remove it and reinsert it. There may an issue with the SIM card (dirty or damaged, corrosion) and it needs to be replaced. 4. Call the carrier to verify there is no issue with the SIM card. a. Contact carrier to verify your account is set up to use the iPhone b. Contact carrier to verify that there are no service outages in your area. c. Contact carrier to verify that there are no billing related issues. d. Again, verify that your calls do not have errors within the carriers system. 5. Reset Networking Settings in your phone (settings>general>reset>reset network settings). Your data will not be erased but you will need to save your wifi /cellular settings, including saved networks (home or work) and VPN settings. For Samsung Users 1. Try calling a different contact in your phone to check to see if it is just an issue with one contact. 2. Check your SIM card. If you have a SIM card, remove it for 1 minute and reinsert it. There may an issue with the SIM card (dirty or damaged, corrosion) and it needs to be replaced. 3. Call the carrier to verify there is no issue with the SIM card. a. Contact carrier to verify that there are no service outages in your area. b. Contact carrier to verify that there are no billing related issues. c. Again, verify that your calls do not have errors within the carriers system for phone calls. 4. Verify and make sure that the number is not on the Auto Reject List 5. Power on the device in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. 6. Disable and remove applications that have features to block and reject calls. 7. Make sure Flight Mode is disabled. 8. Perform a Factory Reset 9. If issue persists, contact carrier.
What should I do if I do not have a signal or voice service?
For Apple Users If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad and you can’t connect to a cellular network, follow these steps…. 1. Restart the phone in Safe Mode to see if the issue is due to a third part application a. When in safe mode, switch the wifi switch on and off. b. If it turns on when in safe mode, restart the device. c. Discover which downloaded applications are causing the problem. Clear the cache or uninstall the app. (tap Apps> Settings> Applications> Application Manager> swipe right to All screen> scroll and tap suspected> tap Clear Cache> tap Clear Data button. d. Reset device bringing it back to its default settings. 3. If issue persists, contact to authorized service provider
What should I do if my GPS fails to work on my device?
Some of the most common GPS problems include… 1. No signal 2. Not updating your location 3. Slow and delayed in tracking your location 4. Showing the incorrect location 5. Apps not discovering your existing location 6. Compass problems or interference ….and how to fix it. For Apple Users 1. Make sure your iPhone is up to date with the latest software. May of these bugs or issues are able to be resolved with simply updating your device. Those updates are made to fix glitches that occur. 2. If it is a third party application you are using like Waze, make sure your apps are up to date. Sometimes developers of applications will make improvements or changes to their software that requires a different system requirement for the mobile device it is downloaded on. 3. Give permission for your apps to use your location. This is probably the most common reason why the GPS doesn’t work. Sometimes we forget to enable location services in our apps. You have to give it permission to work or it simply will not work. (Settings>Privacy> Location Services) 4. Toggle setting features off and on. Sometimes, our gadgets need a little nudge. Try this to see if it revives your GPS. a. Settings > Privacy > Location Services. Toggle Off, wait 15 seconds and toggle back On b. Settings > Airplane Mode. Toggle On, wait 15 seconds and toggle back Off c. Settings > WiFi. Toggle Off, wait 15 seconds and toggle back On d. 4) Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data. Toggle Off, wait 15 seconds and toggle back On (if nothing, restart device) 5. Reset Networking Settings in your phone (settings>general>reset>reset network settings). Your data will not be erased but you will need to save your wifi /cellular settings, including saved networks (home or work) and VPN settings. 6. Reset Location & Privacy. Settings> General> Reset> Reset location & privacy. When this is performed, apps stop using your location until you give them permission again. For Samsung/Google Users 1. Make sure your phone is up to date with the latest software. May of these bugs or issues are able to be resolved with simply updating your device. Those updates are made to fix glitches that occur. 2. If it is a third party application you are using like Waze, make sure your apps are up to date. Sometimes developers of applications will make improvements or changes to their software that requires a different system requirement for the mobile device it is downloaded on. 3. Verify and give permission for your apps to use your location. This is probably the most common reason why the GPS doesn’t work. Sometimes we forget to enable location services in our apps. You have to give it permission to work or it simply will not work. (Apps>Settings> Privacy and Safety>Location and switch to ON> tap Location Method> tap Locating Method> tap GPS, Wi-Fi, and Mobile networks) 4. If the issue remains, perform a soft reset. Leave the phone powered on. Remove the battery and after 10 seconds, reinsert the battery. Turn phone back on.
My touchscreen is not working. What can I do?
For Apple Users If apps that you installed won’t open or unexpectedly quits, try these steps… 1. If you have a case or screen protector over the display, try removing it. Some manufacturer cases interfere with the functionality of the screen. 2. Restart your iPhone or iPad 3. Close the app and open it again 4. Check for iOS updates and make sure you are using the latest iOS. Make sure your iPhone is up to date with the latest software. Issues with calls can be with simply not updating your device. Those updates are made to fix glitches that occur. (Settings>General>Software Update). 5. Restore the device as new 6. If issue persists, contact Apple Support or take your device to an Apple Retail Store For Samsung/Google Users 1. If you have a case or screen protector over the display, try removing it. What can I do for my device if my apps keep crashing?
For Apple Users If apps that you installed won’t open or unexpectedly quits, try these steps… 1. Restart your iPhone or iPad 2. Close the app and open it again 3. Redownload the app and download it again. 4. Check for iOS updates and make sure you are using the latest iOS. Make sure your iPhone is up to date with the latest software. Issues with calls can be with simply not updating your device. Those updates are made to fix glitches that occur. (Settings>General>Software Update). 5. Open App Store> tap Updates> Update All 6. Contact App developer 7. If multiple applications are crashing, you will want to back up the device and restore it as a new device. For Samsung/Google Users 1. Restart your device 2. Make sure your device is up to date. Settings> About> Software Update 3. If there is only one issue with one app such as Linkedin, Facebook, or another downloaded application. a. Settings> App Manager b. Tap Application you are having problems with c. Tap Clear Data & Clear Cache d. Restart your phone and try to reopen the application and test it. 4. If issue persists, try uninstalling application and redownloading it via the Google Play Store 5. If multiple applications are crashing, you will want to back up your device and restore it.
What can I do if my bluetooth is no longer working on my device?
Sometimes software can act a little funny at times. This can happen especially after the phone has not been turned completely off in a while. First check to see the phone is up to date. If it is, we will then RESET NETWORK SETTINGS. No worries. This is not as scary as it sounds. The great news is that your data will still be intact and information will still be there. (Personally, I always recommend to always save your information before doing any update just in case if something ever goes wrong.) Caution: You will need to repair your WIFI and Bluetooth devices after resetting this. For Apple Users 1. Check to make sure your Bluetooth is turned on. If it already is on, turn it off, wait 5 seconds, and turn it on. 2. Make sure your Bluetooth device is charges and check to see if batteries need to be replaced. 3. Unpair your Bluetooth accessory and put it back in discovery mode, pair and connect it again. and make sure 4. Make sure your iOS is up to date. 5. Restore device if multiple devices are not pairing. For Samsung/Google Users 1. Check to make sure your Bluetooth is turned on. If it already is on, turn it off, wait 5 seconds, and turn it on. 2. Go to Settings> Bluetooth and Delete all pairings and retest. 3. Disable all apps that utilize Bluetooth and retest. 4. Make sure your Bluetooth device is charges and check to see if batteries need to be replaced. 5. Clear all of the Bluetooth cache a. Settings> Application Manager b. Swipe left and select Bluetooth c. Tap clear cache. d. Power the device 6. If none of the following works a. Power off the phone b. Press and hold the volume up button, home and power button until the logo appears c. Tap wipe cache partition (use the volume button to navigate and the power button to select) d. Wait for the task to complete and restart the phone.
